Electric Muscle Stimulation: Electric muscle stimulation is used to help relax tense muscles, decrease swelling, release endorphins (the body’s natural pain killer) and help speed up the healing process. Although an odd feeling at first, many patients find it very relaxing and very helpful.
Ultrasound: Ultrasound provides a deep heating effect to the tissues of the body. This can reduce pain and muscle spasms and it can increase the blood flow to the treated area which helps decrease swelling and speed up the healing process. As the patient, you won’t feel anything with this therapy, but the results are outstanding.
Phototherapy (a.k.a. cold laser therapy): This is used to help heal patients as well. The light energy enters through the skin and is soaked into the cells. The light energy is absorbed into the mitochondria (where the cell makes its energy) and can help heal wounds, speed up the healing process, decrease inflammation and swelling and can help decrease pain.
Cryotherapy: This is as simple as placing an ice pack on the sore area. This can be done anywhere on the body to help relieve pain and inflammation. As simple as this may seem, it is one of the most helpful therapies around.
Micro-current electrical therapy (a.k.a. Alpha-Stim): Alpha-stim is a low current stimulation that can tremendously help reduce pain. It is a very gentle process, it can be done in just a few minutes, and it can be very relieving.
Cervical Traction: This is used to help restore proper cervical curve and helps stretch out the muscles in the neck. It is a very simple and relaxing therapy, and only takes a few minutes!
Aqua Massage Bed: This open bed provides a wonderful massage. It helps relax the muscles throughout your body and gives you a few minutes of quiet all to yourself. This bed can help relax the muscles to allow the adjustment to hold longer. There’s no lying uncomfortably on your stomach, you don’t have to change into a bathing suit, just lay down, push a button and float away for a while.
