Palmer Package:  Palmer package is a system of chiropractic care taught by the Palmer College of Chiropractic. It includes a variety of techniques. The main techniques are: Diversified, Thomson and Gonstead. Diversified consists of spinal analysis to identify the improper position of one or more vertebrae, and the administration of a manual thrust. Thomson uses a special table with drop-away sections to minimize the amount of energy needed to adjust the spine. In Gonstead, the practitioner uses a small heat-sensing instrument and full-spine X-rays, and then has the patient sit, kneel, or lie on his/her side so adjustments can be made. Dr. J uses a combination of all of the above techniques to provide the right care for each patient.

Activator: This technique utilizes a small handheld instrument, called an activator, with a soft rubber tip to deliver a light, specific force to the area deemed in need of treatment. It provides the right amount of pressure to move the vertebra back in place, but it leaves out that “cracking” noise and requires much less force. This is a wonderful technique for patients who are nervous about getting adjusted for the first time.

Flexion-Distraction: Flexion-Distraction is used to help relieve pain in the low back by giving those muscles a great big stretch. For this technique we have a slow motion table that will help us stretch your spinal muscles allowing for better flow in the vertebral disc spaces. It is great for relieving pain that starts in the low back and goes down the legs, general stiffness and low back pain.
